For employers and benefits providers

A health coach that gets your wellbeing offer used

Pal coaches your people on food, activity, sleep and their goals, on the app and on WhatsApp, and points them to the support you already provide at the moment it helps.

What Pal does for your people

Points people to what you already offer

Your EAP, occupational health, physio, mental health support, financial wellbeing and benefits portal. Pal brings them up in conversation when they are relevant, so people use the support you already pay for.

A coach for the whole person

Food logged from a photo, a sentence or a voice note. Pal joins it up with activity, sleep and heart data from Apple Health or Health Connect, and plans the week around it.

Built around their goals and your calendar

A step challenge, a charity 10k or a wellbeing month: Pal turns it into a weekly plan for each person, alongside their own goals.

Where your people already are

On the app and on WhatsApp, with the same memory, and live voice calls for a proper chat. Check-ins arrive at the right time rather than as generic reminders.

Signposting

Your services, at the right moment

You share what your people can use. Pal remembers it, and when someone mentions a bad back, a stressful month or money worries, it points them to the right service with the details they need.

  • Employee assistance programme
  • Occupational health
  • Physio
  • Mental health support
  • Financial wellbeing
  • Health checks
  • Cycle to work
  • Gym discounts
  • Benefits portal
  • Wellbeing calendar

Example: Calder & Co, a fictional firm

Year end is killing me. Barely sleeping and my back's in bits from the desk.
Coach
That's a lot at once. Calder's assistance line is free, confidential and open 24 hours if you'd like to talk it through. For your back, you can book a physio session through the benefits portal. Shall I send you both links? And let's keep tonight simple: screens off by 11.

Goals and events

Built around each person

  • Their own goals, whether that's losing weight, more energy, training for a race or sleeping better. Pal sets targets and three things to focus on each week.
  • Events to work towards, like a 10k, a hike or a wedding. Pal works back from the date.
  • Built for real life: GLP-1 medicines, perimenopause and menopause, and injuries and niggles.
  • Tracking in seconds. A photo, a sentence or a voice note, and nothing's logged until they check it.
Pal app screen headed "Built around you": different calorie targets for weekdays and weekends, a protein target and pace, and this week's three things to focus on.

Step challenges and wellbeing months

Your challenge, in everyone's week

Pal works alongside the step challenge platform you already use. It turns your campaign into a personal plan for each person, and keeps it going once the leaderboard closes.

  1. Tell Pal about it

The dates, the targets, how to sign up and the team rules. Pal can also sign people up if your platform allows it.

  2. It becomes part of their week

Each person's plan gets walks and activity that fit their week and their starting point, and Pal checks in as they go. Steps come from Apple Health or Health Connect.

  3. Teams keep each other going

A team becomes a Pals Group with one link, so colleagues can send kudos and nudges. Each person chooses what their Pals see.

  4. The habit outlasts the challenge

When the month ends, the coaching carries on, so the extra steps become part of normal life.

Coach
Week two of the step challenge, and you're averaging 8,400 a day, up from 5,900. Thursday's your quiet day, so I've added a 20-minute walk after lunch.

For employee benefits providers

Add a coach to your platform

Benefits work best when people know they exist. Pal gives every member a coach that talks to them every week, and points them to the rest of what you offer.

Your brand, or co-branded

Pal can carry your name, colours and tone of voice, or sit alongside your client's brand. A fully re-branded version already runs on the same platform.

A front door to everything on your platform

Give Pal your catalogue of benefits and services, and it points each person to the right one. With custom tools, it can sign people up or make a referral too.

Engagement you can show your clients

Aggregated, anonymised reports on how many people are active and what they're working on. Never anyone's individual data.

We run the coaching

The coaching, the safety rules and the support are ours. You choose who gets it and how it is branded.

Private by design

Nothing individual is shared

Employers and providers see aggregated, anonymised reports only. Chats, logs and health data stay with the person.

Consent first

Health data is only used with each person's explicit consent, under UK data protection law. We support your DPIA.

Safe by default

Pal gives wellbeing guidance, not medical advice. If someone mentions a crisis, it replies with UK helplines rather than coaching.

How a pilot works

  1. Scope

We agree who it's for, the services Pal should point people to, how it's branded and how we'll measure it. A step challenge or wellbeing month is a good place to start.

  2. Launch

Your people get Pal on the app and WhatsApp. We handle the coaching, the safety rules and the support, and give you the words for your launch comms.

  3. Review

You get an aggregated, anonymised report on how it went, never anyone's individual data. Then we decide together what comes next.

Questions

Does Pal replace our EAP or occupational health?

No. Pal is a wellbeing coach, and its job is to get people to the services you already provide. It isn't a medical device or a crisis service: if someone mentions self-harm or a crisis, Pal replies with UK helplines rather than coaching.

Can it run alongside our step challenge platform?

Yes. Pal doesn't replace it. People keep using the challenge platform as they do now, and Pal reads the same steps from Apple Health or Health Connect, builds the challenge into their week and keeps them going after it ends.

How do people get it?

They download Pal and set up their goals in about two minutes, and their access is unlocked through their work email. From then on they can talk to Pal in the app or on WhatsApp, whichever they prefer.

Will we see individual people's data?

No. You only ever get aggregated, anonymised reports. Nobody's chats, logs or health information are shared with their employer, or with a benefits provider.

What about data protection?

Pal runs under UK data protection law, and health data is only used with each person's explicit consent. We'll support your DPIA and give your information governance team what they need. Our privacy policy lists every provider we use.

We are a benefits provider. Can we offer Pal to our clients?

Yes. Pal can be white-labelled under your brand or co-branded with each client, and it can point people to everything else on your platform. Let's talk about how it fits your offer.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the number of people and how much branding you want. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll scope a pilot with you, starting with a campaign such as your next step challenge if that helps.
